For the naturalist and curious observer alike, this handmade wooden box doubles as a display piece and a tool for discovery. Crafted with brass hinges and hardware, it measures 12" x 8" x 8", with a top-opening lid for easy access. A 1.5" front hole behind a fold-down flap, along with three breathing holes on each side and five on the back, allows for careful observation of any small and mysterious inhabitants. The bottom has 6 non-slip rubber feet attached.

The box bears its own history: claw marks inside, evidence of a restless occupant, and perhaps more puzzling, damage on the back which seems to be evidence of something trying to get into the box. These imperfections are not flaws—they are part of its story, a record of the lives within and without.

Ideal for small animal keepers, naturalists, or collectors of curiosities, this box channels the spirit of a specimen collector—careful, observant, and always attuned to the small wonders of the world. And dare we say, this box carries a remarkably mogwai-esque aura.

Suitable animals (temporary observation only): hamsters, dwarf mice, gerbils, small geckos, anoles, tree frogs, hermit crabs, small tarantulas or spiders, and other tiny invertebrates. Not intended as a long-term habitat.
